Thank you mateNOTHING is changed in devflash so this CAN'T cause a brick by incorrect use!If you setup your CFW (the real, NOT the spoofed version) and the option is enabled then PS3Lock redirect the original file '/devflash/vsh/module/softwareupdateplugin.sprx' to'/devhdd0/Plugins/PS3Lock/BlockUpdate/softwareupdate.blockXXX' (XXX your CFW). NOTHING touched in devflash! This option is auto-enabled in 'Restricted mode' or you can manually enable/disable in advanced settings. You can also set the update block to 'permanent', then the update block is auto-enabled after each restart (independent from restricted mode). Thanks at aldostools for the hint with 'sysmappath'. Enter '3. 4.85 Official Firmware is now Live!!! Here is what you need to knowWell it took awhile from Sony, but its confirmed they finally got around to pushing a new firmware update with the release of version 4.85 for the PS3.
It appears ( developers are still investigating) Sony has essentially given up that classic 'Cat & Mouse' game with the PS3 Homebrew Scene. While it was apparent during the past two exploits, as they went nearly a year (with each exploit) without seeing a patch for a softmod, that has kind of shown Sony's hand with its dealing and future intentions with the PS3. Somewhat surprising (since PSN is still active) but it makes sense, with the PlayStation 5 on the doorstep. While the PS3 is being phased out in many ways, the Security Team has been a dead sector over at Sony PS3 HQ for sometime, but then again they may not of been the best team for the task, as we all know what happened back on firmware 3.55 and the 'oh shit' moment that team went through with the bad security implementation that was discovered and thus lead to PS3 CFW for all of us, so maybe that team was not so bad.. It is a little bit quiet in these summer days, don't you think? Most people were enjoying their holidays by all the sunshine. Luckily famous PlayStation Vita-Developer was busy these days and brings you a suprising Release with an updated Version of h-encore - namely.
Yes, his last release already had a but nevertheless, the main headline for this release is that with this updated Version, you are now again allowed to install you favourite Homebrew, Plugins or you can even Downgrade your PlayStation Vita to a lower System Firmware and all that from the newest Original System Firmware (OFW) released by Sony ( by the time of writing this article). This is huge news, especially for users, who were on a higher System Firmware, which was unsupported to do all those things and the coolest thing is, this Exploit works as simple as the previous Version did. So without any further ado, here are each Steps needed to get this exploit running on your PlayStation Vita. Happy Cracking.
UPDATE (August 25) - Another New Video Released The next PS3 NVidia RSX accelerated X.org steps(Original Article from Nov. 14) Is the PS3 a bit closer to gaining with a proper driver to enable the GPU chip? We are not there, but we may be getting closer to a reality. Earlier this year ( ) we detailed some of the progress that the busy dev has made with unlocking the potential of the PlayStation 3's RSX chip and now today we have been greeted with a new video and what we can expect with this project as the developer starts to undertake the challenge of further unlocking one more component of the Ps3 hardware.
The developer has alot of videos on other intresting subjects in his diverse You Tube channel. Click to expand. The best way to prevent an accidental OFW system update is to use Syscon changer. Set Syscon version to 9.98, and disable Qa flag. Then whenever someone tries to update the PS3, they will only get an error.
Same with disc based updates. At first it may look like it will install, and copy to hdd. But when it reboots to start the install, an error will pop up.Then whenever you want to update the CFW. Change the Syscon version on it to 9.98, and install it. Or enable qa flag and you will be able to install it.
.The PSP Custom Firmware 6.61-Pro-C2 will work on all PSP models from the original PSP to the PSP Go and even the E1000, all you need is to be running the official 6.60 or 6.61 firmware to install and use this custom firmware.Note: On the Sony released PSP firmware 6.61, some three and a half years after the last 6.60 update. It's of no benefit to you updating to 6.61 after all this time, however the custom firmware has now been updated to support 6.61.
So you can now follow this guide if you happen to have updated to 6.61.Why would i want to install Custom Firmware on my PSP?When custom firmware is on your PSP you can use emulators, homebrew applications and even backup your games to the memory stick. This allows you to easily carry around more than one game, and helps to save your PSP's battery as it does not need to power the UMD drive when playing games. You can also convert your old PS1 games and play them your PSP. All PS1 games are supported, not just games on the PSN.
You can also add new features to your PSP via kernel mode background plugins, for example the ability to take screenshots in games.Something to note is that you can only permanently install this firmware on a PSP 1000 or a PSP 2000 that is not an 88 v3 version. However its very easy to re load the custom firmware on a 88V3 PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP Go or E1000. I will cover finding out your PSP version later in this guide, all you need to know for now is that if you own a PSP you can follow this guide and get homebrew applications running on your PSP.If the firmware is permanently installed it means your PSP will boot directly in to the custom firmware when powered on, if not it means you will have to enable it again by launching a simple app. This however only needs doing from a cold boot, if you leave the PSP in standby like most people do (you probably do this without realising) then you will not need to enable it.1.
Updating your PSP to 6.60 (Skip this if you are on 6.61)To begin and update your PSP.To update the PSP simply extract the PSP folder from the 6.60 update RAR file and move it to your PSP's memory stick. As you can see below the PSPGAMEUPDATE folder contains the EBOOT.PBP update. Now on your PSP go to Game Memory stick then launch the 6.60 update, follow the instructions to install the update:2.
